The purpose of the MCC Parish Nurse program is to help nurture the whole person - mind, spirit, and body.
Cara’s passion is to provide resources to our congregation, and the community around our church. As Parish Nurse, she helps provide health education, answers questions about how to get care, helps navigate the healthcare system, and connects needs with support groups and systems. |

Monthly OSF Care-a-van day
The OSF Care-a-van provides services from MCC's parking lot
MCC is thrilled to partner with the OSF Care-a-van to offer care to our neighborhood. In 2024, our next clinic date is Thursday, April 11 from 9:30-noon. Please check our Facebook page for the most current information. Services offered by the Care-a-van include FREE care such as glucose and blood pressure checks, medication checks, various screenings, appointment coordination and help with other medical concerns or questions.
During this time, MCC provides breakfast/ brunch and fellowship opportunities with cards, games, and crafts. |
The WHOLE Initiative
In 2022, MCC was honored to receive a grant from the National Benevolent Association for our WHOLE (Whole Health Opportunities for Life Enrichment) Initiative.
We hosted a second annual Sweet Summertime Party at which OSF Healthcare provided school physicals and dental exams in July. Moving into the autumn, we hosted speakers from Peoria County Triad each second Saturday of the month. These talks were streamed to FacebookLive unless prohibited by the presenter. |

Flu Shot and Vaccine Clinics
MCC has been grateful to partner with OSF Health to distribute Flu Vaccines. Future clinics will be advertised on our Facebook page and in our newsletters and bulletins
We were also honored to partner with the Illinois Department of Public Health to offer free walk-in vaccine clinics where 75 vaccines were distributed. There are no further COVID vaccine clinics scheduled at this time.
