The purpose of the MCC Parish Nurse program is to help nurture the whole person - mind, spirit, and body.
Cara’s passion is to provide resources to our congregation, and the community around our church. As Parish Nurse, she helps provide health education, answers questions about how to get care, helps navigate the healthcare system, and connects needs with support groups and systems.
Monthly OSF Care-a-van day
MCC is thrilled to partner with the OSF Care-a-van, often monthly on the second Thursdays from 9:30-noon to offer care to our neighborhood. Services offered by the Care-a-van include FREE care such as glucose and blood pressure checks, medication checks, various screenings, appointment coordination and help with other medical concerns or questions.
During this time, MCC provides breakfast/ brunch and fellowship opportunities with cards, games, and crafts.
The WHOLE Initiative
In 2022, MCC was honored to receive a grant from the National Benevolent Association for our WHOLE (Whole Health Opportunities for Life Enrichment) Initiative.
We hosted a second annual Sweet Summertime Party at which OSF Healthcare provided school physicals and dental exams in July. Moving into the autumn, we hosted speakers from Peoria County Triad each second Saturday of the month.
