O Lord, hear our prayers

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:6-7

Is there anything a congregation does together that is more important than joining hearts and souls with the Spirit through the practice of prayer? In addition to the time we spend praying together in our worship service, we seek to know God and hear Christ's voice through our individual lives of faith. In reading the Bible, we know that God speaks to us. We also seek to develop our prayer practices through the exploration of both corporate and individual spiritual disciplines. 

Prayers for Racial Reconciliation

In 2017, the MCC Elders issued a condemnation of racism and racist violence following the shooting in Charlottesville, VA. Now six years later, we grieve to know we could have re-issued that statement many times.
The sin of racism is an ongoing threat to God’s plan for humankind. We've asked our congregation to pray together that we might be open to the Spirit’s correction to confront this evil in our own hearts and in our world.

• These prayer resources were developed to help elders grow in faith, but they are wonderful practices for anyone
• Operation World is a website that features a daily prayer calendar focused on Christian evangelism.
